DkIT PhD student Tuleen Alkawadri undertook her viva voce examination on November 4th, defending a doctoral thesis entitled: Mechanisms underlying cholinergic contractions of airway smooth muscle and their regulation by beta-adrenoreceptor agonists. Her Examination Panel included Professor Paul McLoughlin from University of College Dublin, and Professor Brian Perrino from University the University of Nevada.
The viva of over 2 hours allowed an in-depth interrogation of her doctoral research thesis – and both Examiners were pleased with the comprehensive defence, and the student gained considerable insight into future directions for the research.
This follows on from her publication in FUNCTION last week,
Congratulations Dr Tuleen Alkawadri – and well done to the supervisory team, led by Professor Gerard Sergeant.
